WOOL

WOOL

Always natural, biodegradable, recyclable.

For centuries our district - Biella - has been synonymous with wool and closely bound by tradition and passion. The range of wools we offer our customers is truly broad and varied.
Thanks to our experience, which goes back to the early 1990s, and to our constant and direct relations with numerous Italian and foreign customers operating in various sectors, we are able to supply bespoke products for different technical manufacturing needs, with a range of characteristics in terms of provenance and type of wool.
Our raw fleeces are sourced in the main supply markets such as Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and South America.
Depending on demand and the characteristics of the wool, fleeces are further selected and sorted in terms of subsequent processing, allowing us to supply certified mulesing-free tops and open tops and to record their provenance for traceability purposes; the finenesse of the fibres ranges from 12 to 30 microns.

We also offer a comprehensive range of secondary  raw materials such as recycled and regenerated wools from different stages of processing: by means of precise classification, mixing and beating or carding, these are turned into products for spinning, either carded or combed; in particular we supply garnetted and recombed fibres in a range of colours and with guaranteed composition.
All materials are tested at recognised laboratories in order to guarantee the highest quality and safety standards demanded by today's market.
All materials are tested in recognized analysis laboratories to guarantee the highest quality and safety standards that the market today imposes.
OUR FIBRE IS TESTED AND CERTIFIED:
  • Laboratory certified for quality and technical specifications in accordance with ITWO regulations, measurement in microns (OFDA), degree of dehairing, average length and count of black and coloured hairs (CSIRO)
  • All our virgin wool fibre is supplied with APEO free certification.

Land of water, exquisite wool fabrics and superb fibres

WHY WOOL?

Naturally eco-sustainable

  • Wool is breathable and prevents the build-up of moisture on the body; it is non-allergenic and reduces stress.
  • It regulates heat: warm in winter, cool in summer.
  • Breathable, reduces sweating.
  • Since it attracts less dirt, dust and sweat, wool requires less washing than other fibres, with the resulting savings in water and energy. Have you ever wondered why your pure wool clothes need less washing than other garments?
  • From raw material to finished item, there are fewer processing stages than for most synthetic fibres, with the resulting savings in energy and resources.

Recyclable

  • The wool cycle is practically endless; it is completely recyclable at every stage of its life. Today approximately 85% of pure wool garments recovered after use can be converted into a secondary raw material and reused in another life.

A valuable purchase

  • If a good quality pure wool garment is correctly stored and laundered, it can last many years.
  • The effort to return to more sustainable fashion should not just be a woke message or and advertising slogan; it should be an everyday action by each one of us, an awareness of a new lifestyle.
  • Buy better = feel better = spend less overall = help ourselves and the planet.

Last but not least, wool is animal friendly and human friendly

  • Wellbeing for us and for them too. Sheep have to be sheared at least once a year, and the wool needs to be used. What's more, we believe - in poetical rather than practical terms - that wool is also therapeutic: when we wear a woollen garment, the positive energy of noble domestic animals like sheep is somehow transmitted to us. : - )
